Media&Democracy Group is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to journalism training for democratic development. Created in 2005 by professional journalists and media workers with vast experience in international training, M&DG works to help journalists in emerging democracies and post-conflict environments achieve the highest possible professional standards and to create responsible, diverse and economically viable media.
We provide trainers, advisors and researchers to media outlets, journalism organizations, election management bodies and other groups for immediate and longer-term assignments.
M&DG members have worked in more than 80 countries as journalists and media developers. Our trainers are fluent in English, French and Spanish and are experienced in working with translators in other languages including Arabic. Our partners have included CIDA, Oxfam Canada, Search for Common Ground, International Media Support, UNDP, UNESCO and other major organizations.
Our work is distinguished by its practical and realistic approach.
