A new Code of Conduct for Journalists has gone into effect in Ethiopia. It sets out clear responsibilities for journalists such as to report “accurately without bias”, and to “observe professional secrecy regarding the source of information obtained in confidence”. This new Code of Conduct was approved by the Ethiopian government as two members of Media&Democracy Group took part in a media capacity-building project throughout the country. Although we cannot reveal specific details due to our contract with our client, it is gratifying to see such progress.
